Château de Millet - Floc de Gascogne Rosé
Origin: Eauze, Armagnac, Gascony, France
Appellation: IGP Floc de Gascogne
Production: Blending of fresh grape juice with young Armagnac
Origin and background
Château de Millet, a renowned family estate in Eauze, produces traditional Armagnacs and Flocs de Gascogne. The Floc rosé is the result of a careful blend of fresh red grape juice (mainly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) and Armagnac from the estate, preserving its fruitiness and sweetness while asserting its regional character.
Tasting
Colour: Deep pink with garnet highlights.
Nose: Expressive and seductive. Aromas of crushed strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, with floral notes (peony, violet) and a hint of sweet spices.
Palate: Smooth and silky. Unctuous attack, balance between sweetness and freshness. Straightforward flavours of ripe red fruit, a hint of spice and a fresh, mouth-watering finish, without heaviness.
Suggested pairings
Ideal served chilled as an aperitif or cocktail. Excellent with fruity desserts such as strawberry tart, raspberry charlotte or cherry clafoutis. Can also be served with semi-cooked foie gras for a refined sweet-savoury contrast, or to enhance a fresh red fruit salad lightly spiced with mint.
