Château de Millet - White Floc de Gascogne

Origin and background

Floc de Gascogne is a traditional liqueur wine from the South-West of France, made according to a recipe handed down since the 16th century. Château de Millet, a family estate renowned for the quality of its armagnacs and wines, offers here an authentic expression of this regional product. The grape must is blended with Armagnac distilled on site, then aged for several months in vats to achieve aromatic balance.

Tasting

Colour: Bright pale gold with straw highlights.

Nose: Intense and charming. Notes of white fruit, candied citrus fruit, acacia honey, white flowers and a touch of muscatel.

Palate: Round and greedy from the outset. Fine balance between the natural sweetness of the must and aromatic freshness. Flavours of ripe fruit, apricot and sweet almond. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, giving this wine a long finish and a slightly warm aftertaste.

Suggested pairings

Serve chilled as an aperitif, or as an ideal accompaniment to semi-cooked foie gras, Charentais melon or blue-veined cheeses such as Roquefort. It also goes very well with desserts based on yellow fruit (apricot tart, peach crumble), or vanilla shortbread biscuits.
