The producer: La Quiberonnaise, from the Quiberon Peninsula in Brittany, is highly regarded among gourmets—this much is certain. For nearly 100 years, these skilled artisans have been delighting the palates of quality-minded customers with their distinctive savoir-faire. Thanks to specific preservation methods—such as canning the fish within just two days—the producer stands out with remarkable craftsmanship. Sardines prepared in various ways, tuna, cod liver, oysters, and their coveted fish soup are among the delicacies they create.
La Quiberonnaise is a family-run company located in the harbour of Quiberon in Brittany (Port Maria). It was founded in 1921 by the grandmother of the current owners, brothers Bernard and Thierry Jourdan. To this day, everything is produced traditionally and entirely by hand using the finest raw ingredients. The fish are processed fresh, strict fishing periods are respected (May to September for sardines), and the tuna used is the superior albacore variety. Their collaboration with the butter house Bordier has made it possible to create exceptional sardine specialities.
