A lovely, luminous pale gold colour, with aromas of honey, beeswax and white flowers (acacias). Rich and well-coated on the palate, this is a very round wine, full of finesse.
Fancy something a little out of the ordinary to tantalise your palate today? With a captivating charm and great complexity, anyone who tastes this wine from the Rhône Valley will immediately know what they're in for. A hint of flower, accompanied by flattering flavours of honey and vanilla. It goes well with grilled fish or white meat!
Winemaker and winery: Francois Sinard, the winemaker's grandfather and founder of the winery at the beginning of the 20th century, was a supplier of mass wine to the Archbishopric of Avignon and the parish of Courthézon. The grapes for this cuvée, newly created by the current winemaker and nicknamed ‘Papé Plume’ after his grandfather, grow on the same slope, which was replanted in 1984.
The grapes are harvested by hand late in September, de-stemmed and sorted. The wine is pressed in demi-muid oak barrels (550 litres) as it was a hundred years ago and is stirred twice a day so that the mash gives the wine more aromas and roundness. The wine is then aged for a year in the washed oak barrels.
Tasting:Beautiful light golden colour, very bright, floral bouquet (hawthorn, honeysuckle). Rich and round in the mouth, floral flavours predominate with notes of citrus and honey.
Food recommendation: (12°C). With grilled fish with herbs de Provence or white meat with cream sauce.
