Château La Dournie, Saint-Chinian - La Dournie 2014 - Parker 93
(€33.50 L)
“A gorgeous wine any way you look at it. (…) Vibrant purple colour as well as sensational notes of black cherries, plums, lavender and exotic spices. Rich, medium to full-bodied, light on its feet and with a great finish” Parker 93 (The Wine Advocate | 230)
Grenache 85%, Carignan 15%
Winemaker and vineyard: Château La Dournie lies in the Hérault department and was bought by the Etienne family in 1870. For six generation, it has been passed from mother to daughter. The vineyard consists of 45 hectares in one piece, on which 14 different varieties are grown. 20 hectares produce AOC Saint Chinian red and rosé. In the vineyards and in the cellar, the watchwords are simplicity and nature. Environmental heritage and significant regional cultural values shall be handed over to the next generations.
Tasting: Beautiful brilliant ruby colour. On the nose, a wide range of aromas, from cherry, blueberry jelly, caramel and cacao to sweet spices. Together with the silky tannins, it issues a fresh finish in the mouth (anise, white pepper) worthy of an elegant wine!
Service: Decanting an hour will facilitate its development. Serve it between 16 and 18°C. Drink it with noble pieces of beef, but also with game and spicy plates.
