This Pinot Noir from Morey Saint-Denis comes from two parcels, Aux Chézeaux and Clos des Ormes. It is a slightly lighter wine compared to those from Gevrey.

Producer: The Tortochot estate has been connected to the Tortochot family for four generations. It was Paul Tortochot who, in the 19th century, expanded the estate from its modest beginnings in Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, it remains in the hands of the Tortochot family. Chantal now runs the estate, bringing with her a deep passion for wine and nature passed down from her parents and grandparents, as well as international experience gained while working for an American oil company.

Terroir: Gevrey-Chambertin boasts a rare and unique "terroir," thanks to the "alluvial fan" that originates from a valley situated just west of Gevrey, known as "La Combe de Lavaux." This glacier melted many millions of years ago, spreading the rich topsoil and subsoil layers throughout what is now the town and beyond into the plains. It is no surprise that 9 of the 33 Grand Crus come from this village, including the famous Chambertin, as well as 26 Premier Crus!

Tasting Notes: A pure, elegant wine with a beautiful ruby-red robe highlighted by violet reflections. On the nose, it impresses with aromas of red fruits, while on the palate, it is well-balanced, clean, and fruity, with melted tannins.
