This Cognac is characterized by its elegance, remarkable balance, and complex flavor profile. It ages for several years in oak barrels, allowing it to develop rich aromas and a smooth texture. Floral and fruity nuances, subtle spice, and a hint of vanilla round out its complexity.
Producer: The Godet family traces its origins back to Bonaventure Godet, a merchant of Dutch descent who settled in La Rochelle in the 16th century. Thanks to its strategic location on the Atlantic coast, he began exporting wine and salt. In order to better preserve the wines, he had them distilled—thus, Cognac was born. This innovation quickly gained favor, even among royal courts.
Today, five centuries later, the Godet brothers—Jean-Édouard, Maxime, and Cyril—continue the family tradition in the 15th generation. While most modern Cognacs are primarily made from the juice of the Ugni Blanc grape, Godet takes a different approach: they focus on rare grape varieties such as Folle Blanche, Montils, and Colombard to create unique expressions.
