Tasting

Colour: Deep garnet with purple highlights, heralding good concentration.

Nose: Open, rich, dominated by black fruit, with hints of liquorice, sweet spices, noble wood and light tobacco.

Palate: Supple, full attack. Ripe, well-integrated tannins. Good mid-palate tension, with a lingering finish of graphite, incense and ripe black fruit. A serious but elegant structure, faithful to the gravelly terroir of Saint-Estèphe.

Food and wine pairings

Ideal with entrecôte à la bordelaise, rack of lamb in a crust, roast duck breast, or mature cheeses such as comté or vieux salers.
