Lush and elegant wine with apricot, quince, and honey aromas, a rich and balanced palate, and a long finish. A great Pinot Gris from granitic terroir.
Domaine Bott Frères' Pinot Gris Grand Cru Gloeckelberg 2015 is a mellow wine of great elegance, made from an exceptional granite terroir located between Rodern and Saint-Hippolyte, at an altitude of 250 to 360 metres. This Grand Cru enjoys a south-south-east exposure, favouring optimal ripening of the grapes.
Tasting notes
Colour: Golden yellow, brilliant and limpid.
Nose: Intense aromas of ripe fruit such as candied apricot, quince and pineapple, accompanied by notes of acacia honey, orange peel and white flowers.
Palate: A supple, velvety attack, developing into a rich, unctuous texture. The balance between sweetness and acidity is remarkable, offering a long, persistent finish.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by ageing on fine lees for several months, allowing the wine to develop its aromatic complexity.
