Elegant 2005 Bordeaux, structured and rich, perfect with meat and mushrooms.
Château Sociando-Mallet 2005 is a red wine from the Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux. This vintage is considered excellent and has great aging potential. It is mainly made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, giving it structure and complexity. The estate, founded in the 18th century, lies on gravelly soil and benefits from a temperate oceanic climate.
This rich and concentrated wine pairs well with refined dishes like duck breast with cherries, Tournedos Rossini, or herb-crusted rack of lamb. A regional mushroom gratin with porcini also complements its earthy and spicy notes.
For the best tasting experience, serve at 16–18°C and decant an hour beforehand. The wine shows a deep ruby color, aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco, and cedar, with elegant tannins and a long, persistent finish.
