Château Carbonnieux 2015 - Pessac-Léognan - Cru Classé de Graves
Grand Cru Classé since 1959 in both red and white, Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest wine estates in Pessac-Léognan. Located on a deep gravel terroir, the 2015 vintage is an exceptional red wine, combining power, elegance and freshness in a very favourable year for Bordeaux.
Blend
- 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot
Tasting notes
- Colour : Intense ruby with purplish tints
- Nose: Complex and elegant - ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, cherry), violet, toasted notes, liquorice, light tobacco.
- Palate: Supple attack, silky but present tannins, velvety texture, great precision.
- Finish: Long, persistent, with fruit and a refined touch of wood
Food & Wine Pairings
- Fillet of beef with red wine sauce
- Duck breast, roast pigeon
- Mushroom risotto, roast vegetables
- Mature cheeses (Saint-Nectaire, Ossau-Iraty)
Cellaring potential
Already expressive today, especially after decanting, Château Carbonnieux 2015 can be cellared until 2035. Over time, it will develop aromas of leather, undergrowth and sweet spices.
