Château Cos Labory 2017
Appellation: Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, France
Status: Cru Bourgeois
Ownership: Cordier family
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon majority, Merlot, Petit Verdot
Vintage: 2017
Origin and background
The 2017 vintage, marked by a contrasting climate with a cool spring and dry summer, allowed the grapes to ripen gradually. Château Cos Labory, situated on the deep gravelly soils of Saint-Estèphe, benefits from rigorous viticulture and well-controlled barrel ageing, resulting in a wine that combines power, finesse and freshness.
Tasting
Colour: Intense ruby red.
Nose: Expressive and elegant, dominated by aromas of black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry) and black cherry, with hints of spice, tobacco and cedar.
Palate: Full, generous attack. The tannins are firm but well blended, giving a solid structure. The fruit is ripe and juicy, with well-integrated hints of wood and spice. The finish is long, balanced and persistent, with a pleasant freshness.
