This cuvée comes from a selection of two plots planted with Grenache, one in 1900 "Charbonnières", the other in 1949 "Esqueirons".
Medium to full-bodied, the palate layers all these mineral sparkles with fresh, energetic black fruit, underpinned by ripe, solid tannins, finishing on an earthy note.
A deep garnet-purple colour, with a meaty, earthy nose of plums and blackberries and hints of eucalyptus and aniseed. Light, mellow structure with an earthy finish.
This is one of the best second wines of the Médoc. Like its elder, this is a classic, elegant wine, with a clear, well-designed structure and a long, fresh final.
