Origin and background
The 2016 vintage, marked by a hot, dry summer followed by a cool autumn, enabled the grapes on the Médoc gravelly soils to ripen to perfection. Château Potensac, owned by the Miailhe family, produces a wine combining power and elegance, representative of the Médoc terroir.
Tasting
Colour: Deep ruby red with purple highlights.
Nose: Expressive and clean. Aromas of black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry), sweet spices (liquorice, pepper), woody notes (cedar) and subtle floral touches.
Palate: Full, structured attack. Firm but well-integrated tannins. Well-balanced mid-palate, with good concentration of fruit and refreshing acidity. Lingering finish with spicy, woody notes.
