Classic Médoc red, elegant and smooth with red fruit, cocoa and spice notes. Fine tannins, good finesse.
Château Cantemerle 2012 - Haut-Médoc, 5th Grand Cru Classé
Château Cantemerle, located in Macau in the Haut-Médoc, is one of the few estates to feature in the famous 1855 classification, despite being situated on the southern border of the Médoc. This classified growth, whose viticultural history dates back to the 13th century, is renowned today for the finesse and elegance of its wines, produced in a very classic Bordeaux style.
Tasting
Colour: Intense ruby red with garnet highlights.
Nose: Elegant and expressive, dominated by ripe red fruit, with hints of cedar, vanilla, cocoa and a floral touch.
Palate: The attack is supple and velvety, with well-integrated, fine tannins. The wine strikes a classic balance between freshness, finesse and length. The woody notes are discreet and well blended, giving way to flavours of red fruit, light tobacco and sweet spices.
Finish: Long, harmonious, with long-lasting aromas.
