Château Feytit-Clinet 2016, Pomerol - Parker 95+
(€149.33 L)
Red and black fruit on the nose, smooth and elegant on the palate, with a fine finish.
Winemaker and Vineyard: Nestled in the heart of the Pomerol appellation is Château Feytit-Clinet, a 6.5 hectare wine estate owned by the Chasseuil family. Since 2000, following a legal dispute with the Jean-Pierre Moueix establishments, the family has taken full control of the estate, bringing significant improvements to the vineyard and winery. The estate produces approximately 30,000 bottles annually, or 2000 cases, from a varietal mainly made up of Merlot (90%) and complemented by Cabernet Franc (10%). This work is the fruit of the efforts of Jérémy Chasseuil, the family's winemaker, who has elevated the wines of the estate to the rank of sure values of the appellation.
Tasting: The 2016 Feytit Clinet is a blend of 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 70% new and 30% one-year-old. It has a deep garnet-purple color with lifted blueberries and black cherries with hints of lilacs, black tea, potpourri, wood smoke and black soil. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated, rich and bold with firm, rounded tannins, seamless freshness and a very long finish with chocolate hints. About 1,583 cases produced. robertparker.com (11.30.2018)
Service: Serve at room temperature (16-18°C) to accompany a veal blanquette.
