Château Gloria 2015, Saint-Julien - MAGNUM - Parker 91
(€86.66 l)
A deep garnet-purple colour, with a meaty, earthy nose of plums and blackberries and hints of eucalyptus and aniseed. Light, mellow structure with an earthy finish.
Winemaker and vineyard: Created by Henri Martin and the only one of its kind as this 50-hectare vineyard was put together piece by piece over a number of years, through the purchase of plots exclusively from grands crus classified in 1855. The origin of the terroirs, the care taken over the growing and the vinification all help to explain its world-renowned quality.
Tasting: “The 2015 Gloria, a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc, matured for 14 months in 40% new and 60% one-year-old barrels. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has an earthy/meaty nose with a core of black plums and blackberries plus touches of eucalypt and anise. The medium-bodied palate is just a little lean and chewy with an earthy finish.” WA 91 (The Wine Advocate)
Service: Serve decanted for 2 hours at a room temperature of 17°C. Can be kept a least until 2033.
