Clos Marsalette - 2019
Origin : Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France
Type : Red wine
Grape varieties : Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
Owners : Stephan von Neipperg & Didier Miqueu
Surface : Approximately 12 hectares
Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep garnet with purple highlights.
Nose: An elegant bouquet combining ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, black cherry), violets, smoky notes and spicy touches (sweet pepper, cedar). The ageing brings well-integrated hints of vanilla and mocha.
Palate: Supple attack, velvety, well-coated tannins. Full-bodied on the palate, with a clean, fruity structure and freshness. The black fruit flavours are complemented by mineral notes and a slightly toasty, long-lasting finish.

Suggested pairings
This wine is the perfect accompaniment to roast veal with morel mushrooms, filet mignon with porcini mushroom sauce, or lamb tajine with figs. It also goes well with grilled red meats, roast pigeon with sweet spices or forest mushroom risotto. On a cheese platter, it will enhance a mature Saint-Nectaire or Ossau-Iraty.
