Origin and background

The 2016 vintage in Saint-Estèphe benefited from exceptional weather conditions: a hot, dry summer followed by a longer, cooler autumn, enabling complete, balanced ripening. Château Meyney, built on gravelly and clay-limestone soils, has produced a powerful, structured wine that is both classic and refined, perfectly representative of the appellation's style.

Tasting

Colour: Deep red with dark garnet highlights.

Nose: Intense and complex. Aromas of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry), red fruit (cherry), spicy notes (pepper, liquorice), floral touches (violet) and elegant woody notes (cedar, vanilla, light tobacco).

Palate: Full, velvety attack. Powerful yet perfectly coated tannins, providing structure and depth. Dense mid-palate, marked by pure fruit and balanced acidity. Long, harmonious finish, with spicy, slightly smoky accents.
