Le Bon Semeur, Red Split Lentils - 500g
(€9.00 L)
Imported from the Middle East, it is a lens that has been de-foiled. It is marketed either polished in water or in oil, and cooks in a few minutes. It is prepared in purées, soups or in "dahl", an Indian speciality.
The producer: Since its foundation in 1959, Trescarte has become one of the specialists in green Puy lentils, and then in other dried vegetables. The strong link to the land and to those who cultivate it is perpetuated as a tradition and is the guiding principle of the company's quality policy. The Le Bon Semeur range offers a choice of very high quality dried vegetables rich in new flavours. Each variety of dried vegetable is selected and packaged according to the same rules as the green lentils from Puy PDO.
Service: Allow 60g of lentils per person (about 1 glass for 2 people). Put the lentils in 4 times their volume of cold water. After boiling, leave to cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
