Château de Millet is a family estate located in Eauze, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, on sandy soils known as ‘tawny sands’, renowned for producing elegant, deep eaux-de-vie.
The XO Hors d'âge is a blend of eaux-de-vie aged for many years in oak casks, well beyond the minimum length for an XO. Distilled on site in a traditional Armagnac still heated over a wood fire and mainly made from the Baco grape variety, it reveals the full ageing potential of this terroir.
It is matured in 400-litre barrels, without any additions (caramel, sugar or flavourings) and without extensive filtration, in order to preserve the authenticity and aromatic depth of the eau-de-vie. It is bottled at the château at 42% alcohol.
When tasted, it has a dark, amber colour. The nose evokes a rich world of candied fruit, honey, vanilla, precious woods and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is enveloping, with a dense, velvety texture. Aromas of oak, ripe fruit and caramel intertwine to create a refined, gourmet sensation. The finish is long, elegant and warm, with a subtle spicy aftertaste.
This Château de Millet Bas-Armagnac XO Hors d'âge is an exceptional eau-de-vie, sophisticated and full of character, designed for demanding connoisseurs or to accompany a special tasting moment.
