Aromatic; "Arctic" freshness meets intriguing sweetness. White pepper, dried fruits, vanilla.
This transparent and colorless brandy is unique in many ways. Its very name reflects its essence: inspired by Jean-Jacques Godet's bold Antarctic adventure, one can actually taste an arctic, icy freshness that meets an intriguing sweetness. The blend consists of 99% Cognac brandy and 1% Brandy, and is aged in centuries-old oak barrels, making it a refreshing and highly original spirit.
Producer:The House of Godet traces its origins back to Bonaventure Godet, a Dutch merchant who settled in La Rochelle in the 16th century. Taking advantage of the strategic location on the Atlantic coast, he began exporting wine and salt. To better preserve the wines, he had them distilled—thus, Cognac was born. This innovation quickly gained popularity, even among royal courts.
Today, five centuries later, the Godet brothers—Jean-Édouard, Maxime, and Cyril—continue the family tradition in its 15th generation. While most modern Cognacs are primarily made from the juice of the Ugni Blanc grape, Godet takes a different approach: they focus on rare grape varieties such as Folle Blanche, Montils, and Colombard to create unique creations.
Tasting Notes: Color: Crystal clear, Aroma: Very aromatic, with distinct caramel notes at first. Shortly after, chamomile, fresh apricot, oak, and pine needle emerge, creating a multi-layered experience, Palate: An explosion of white pepper, tamed somewhat by vanilla, dried fruit, and caramel. The finish is apricot.
