Château de Millet is a family estate located in Eauze, in the Gers department, in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region. The vineyards are planted on sandy-clay soils known as ‘tawny sands’, renowned for producing fine, elegant eaux-de-vie.
Bas-Armagnac 2004 is a vintage Armagnac, made exclusively from that year's harvest. It was distilled on the estate in a traditional wood-fired still. The main grape variety used is Baco, appreciated for its ability to produce well-balanced eaux-de-vie suitable for ageing.
After distillation, the armagnac is matured for a long period in 400-litre oak barrels in the estate's cellars. No caramel, sugar or artificial flavourings are added to preserve the purity of the product. It is bottled on the estate at its natural degree of balance, at 42% alcohol.
On tasting, this vintage has a clear amber colour. The nose is fine and expressive, with aromas of dried fruit, vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is supple and the structure harmonious. The flavours are fruity, woody and spicy, with a long finish.
Château de Millet Bas-Armagnac 2004 is an authentic, refined eau-de-vie that will appeal to lovers of vintage armagnacs for its aromatic richness and balanced sweetness.
