Château Guiraud - 2019
Origin: Sauternes, Bordeaux, France
Type: Sweet white wine
Grape varieties: Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc
Estate: Premier Grand Cru Classé 1855, renowned for its certified organic viticulture and pure, precise style.
Tasting notes
Appearance: Deep gold, clear and luminous.
Nose : Complex and refined, combining aromas of candied fruit (apricot, mango), orange peel, acacia honey and white flowers, enhanced by fine spicy and slightly toasted notes from the ageing process.
Palate: Full-bodied and unctuous from the outset, supported by fresh acidity that balances the richness of the sugar. The flavours of exotic and candied fruit continue with hints of honey and spice. The finish is long, harmonious and very pure.
Critic
- Robert Parker (Wine Advocate): 94/100
- Wine Enthusiast: 94/100
- James Suckling: 95/100
Suggested pairings
Château Guiraud 2019 is ideal with foie gras (terrine or pan-fried), roast poultry with fruit (duck with orange, guinea fowl with apricots), blue-veined cheeses (Roquefort, Stilton) and moderately sweet fruity desserts (apple tart, roast pineapple). It can also be enjoyed on its own at the end of a meal for pure, elegant pleasure, or with more daring combinations such as a mild curry or lightly spiced Asian cuisine.
