Selection of century old grenaches planted by the winemaker's ancestor Pollus.
Winemaker and vineyard: A family estate for 6 generations in Châteauneuf du Pape. Today, Serge runs the estate with his niece Laetitia. The range includes Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac, Côte du Rhône and French wines. Since 2020, the vineyard is certified HVE (High Environmental Value) and is naturally moving towards organic farming.
Tasting: Deep and concentrated garnet colour. First toasted notes. Aromas of cocoa, dried rose, jammy black cherry then liquorice take over. The palate is powerful, rich and the tannins are present. A nice sweetness and a finish of rare length.
Service: Lamb tagine, stews, game. A great wine to keep for 15-25 years.
