Château Pichon Baron 2014
Origin and background
The 2014 vintage was marked by a cooler, wetter climate than in previous years, leading to more accessible, fresh and elegant wines. Château Pichon Baron was able to take advantage of these conditions to produce a well-structured wine of remarkable finesse, with a delicate aromatic profile true to its gravelly terroir.
Tasting
Colour: Deep ruby red with purple highlights.
Nose: Elegant and fine. Aromas of fresh red and black fruit (cherry, blackcurrant), floral notes (violet), sweet spices, lightly woody touches (vanilla, cedar).
Palate: Supple, fresh attack. Fine, silky tannins, balanced structure. Harmonious mid-palate, revealing elegant fruit and refreshing acidity. Clean, persistent finish, with notes of red fruit and light spices.
