Property : Château Margaux
Grape varieties : Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc
Vintage : 2018
Tasting
Colour : Intense, limpid garnet red.
Nose: Very refined, with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, enhanced by floral accents (violet), sweet spices, graphite and noble wood with a subtle toasty note.
Palate: Velvety, full attack. Silky texture, fine, perfectly integrated tannins. Great aromatic depth, with flavours of black fruit, light tobacco, cedar and dark chocolate. The finish is long, elegant and fresh, with a fine balance between power and finesse.
Review
- Wine Advocate: 94/100
- James Suckling: 95/100
- Vinous: 94/100
Suggested pairings
Ideal with roast beef fillet en croûte, rack of lamb with herbs, roast duck breast with green pepper or shoulder of lamb confit. It also goes well with more delicate dishes such as truffled poultry supremes or forest mushroom risotto. Mature hard cheeses (Comté, Parmesan) or slightly blue-veined cheeses are the perfect complement to its structure and elegance.
