Tomato and mustard – perfectly united with Orléans vinegar from the house of Martin Pouret and Guérande salt.
Traditionally crafted mustard with tomato, made from stone-milled mustard seeds, Guérande salt, and our own Orléans vinegar.
Producer: The production of vinegar, the city of Orléans, and the Loire River have been closely linked since the Renaissance. At that time, wines from the south of France were transported by boat to Orléans before continuing overland to Paris. During this eventful journey along Europe’s wildest river, some wines began a second fermentation. Set aside on the quays of Orléans, they were then taken in hand by the city’s Master Vinegar Makers, who perfected their transformation from wine into vinegar. This is how the famous Vinaigre d’Orléans was born.
Since 1797, Martin-Pouret has continuously upheld this artisanal expertise, with an ever-growing commitment to quality. Thanks to the dedication of its Master Vinegar Makers, respect for this centuries-old method, and a constant pursuit of excellence, Martin-Pouret produces vinegars found all over the world — in the kitchens of Michelin-starred chefs as well as on the tables of fine food lovers.
