Fichet, Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru 2022
(€62.53 L)
elegant, full-bodied and fruity aromas; blanquette of poultry, cheeses, fish
Vineyard and winemaker: Since 1999, the two brothers Pierre-Yves and Olivier Fichet have been running this 30ha family estate. They produce 15 different cuvées and were elected Winemaker of the Year in Burgundy by the Guide Hachette des Vins 2017. Their wines are made with great respect for the terroir, with great elegance and finesse, with ripe fruit, minerality and power. These are supple wines that can also be kept for longer! The guideline is always the same: very fruity, mineral, round and powerful!
Tasting: The grapes come from the best Pouilly-Fuissé vineyards in the commune of Fuissé. A good maturity allows us to obtain a richness in alcohol (which is close to 13.5°) as well as in fat and fruity aromas. The maturing in barrel is not very marked and is very well supported by the wine which takes over from the middle of the fermentation. Thanks to this very good maturity and a long natural fermentation at low temperature, this wine should be left to open up a little with a few years of ageing.
Service: Blanquette de volaille, Camemberts, Bries, crab, steamed prawns, grilled poultry fillets, seafood in sauce
