100% French Single Malt Whisky from the Atlantic Coast; earthy-smoky aromas
A French Single Malt, made from French spring barley, distilled in a French Pot Still, matured in 400-liter Sessile oak barrels, then undergoes double maturation for 24 months in Moscatel white wine oak barrels at Château La Sauzaie in La Rochelle!
Producer: The Godet family traces its origins back to Bonaventure Godet, a Dutch merchant who settled in La Rochelle in the 16th century. Thanks to its strategic location on the Atlantic coast, he began exporting wine and salt. To better preserve the wines, he started distilling them – thus, Cognac was born. This innovation quickly gained popularity, even with royal households.
Today, five centuries later, the Godet brothers Jean-Édouard, Maxime, and Cyril continue the family tradition in its 15th generation. While most modern Cognacs are primarily made from the juice of the Ugni Blanc grape, Godet takes a different approach: they focus on rare grape varieties such as Folle Blanche, Montils, and Colombard to create unique creations.
