Château d'Issan 2014, Margaux 3° Grand Cru Classé - Parker 91+
(€92.66 l)
Lovely floral fruit, elegant freshness and natural depth – a true taste of Margaux from this historic château.
Neal Martin (May 2015) 89-91/100
"It has a very precise, quite minerally bouquet that has that trademark violet touch that pins down the appellation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and good acidity; appreciate depth with chewy black tarry fruit towards the finish. This is a gutsier d’Issan that will probably be one of the longer lasting Margaux crus of the vintage.”
Wine Advocate - Robert Parker 89-91/100
A beautiful effort that is a model of elegance and symmetry, this 2004 d’Issan possesses a dark ruby/purple color as well as floral, raspberry, cherry, and blueberry aromas interwoven with notions of licorice and toasty oak. Beautiful ripeness, medium body, and a delicate integration of tannin and wood result in a pure Margaux that should be at its peak between 2009-2020+. robertparker.com

Still feels very much on the primary fruit. Oh this should really develop beautifully – high and tight tannins, good acidity, good fruit, maybe lacks a little luxurious texture but seems to be quivering on the leash, ready to spring out of the box. Dark fruit on the nose, blackberry, with liquorice and even hints of tar. A young, big wine with ambition, and definite promise. Chewier tannins than many on display.
Jeannie Cho Lee 92/100
Elegant, light bodied and focused with great purity and detail. The wine is keeping to d'Issan's light, traditional style yet bringing a touch of modernity by lifting the fruit and adding more precision and detail. A well-made 2014.
