Winemaker and Vineyard: Château Fleur Cardinale stretches its vines over nearly 23 hectares. The property is located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, to the east of the Saint-Emilion appellation. The topography is diverse: the slopes are mostly steep, and all orientations can be found locally. Château Fleur Cardinale is situated on a north-facing hillside on a clay-limestone plateau. The vineyard, whose vines have an average age of 30 years, benefits from a grape variety dominated by Merlot (75%), followed by Cabernet Franc (17%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (8%).

Tasting:The 2014 Fleur Cardinale is located in Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, the vines populating the lieu-dit of Thibaud. it has a powerful, rich and decadent bouquet bestowed with licorice and boysenberry jam. The palate is medium-bodied with muscular tannin, good depth, fine acidity with a structured and quite spicy finish that replicates the showing from barrel. Enjoy this over the next 8-10 years. robertparker.com (31.03.2017)

Service: Serve at room temperature (16-18°C) to accompany a veal roast with apricots.
