The 2016 vintage is one of the great success stories of Pessac-Léognan, with a hot, dry summer followed by a mild autumn that enabled optimum ripening. Château Carbonnieux, renowned for its elegant, well-balanced style, produces a powerful, refined red wine from deep, well-drained gravelly soils.
Tasting
Colour: Deep ruby red with purple highlights.
Nose: Complex and fine. Aromas of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry), red fruit (cherry), spicy notes (pepper, liquorice), woody nuances (cedar, vanilla) and a light floral touch.
Palate: Supple, full attack. Elegant, well blended tannins. Rich, balanced mid-palate, with intense fruit and refreshing acidity. Long, harmonious finish, marked by spicy, woody notes.
