Cognac Godet, Cognac VSOP Original - 70cl
(€70.72 L)
A testament to the harmonious interplay of wood and time, this Cognac was aged for an impressive 4 to 9 years in our coastal cellars. It is an exquisite expression that embodies the captivating wood notes found in our Cognacs.
Producer: The Godet family traces its origins back to Bonaventure Godet, a merchant of Dutch descent who settled in La Rochelle in the 16th century. Thanks to its strategic location on the Atlantic coast, he began exporting wine and salt. To better preserve the wines, he had them distilled—thus, Cognac was born. This innovation quickly gained favor, even among royal courts.
Today, five centuries later, the Godet brothers—Jean-Édouard, Maxime, and Cyril—carry on the family tradition in the 15th generation. While most modern Cognacs are primarily made from the juice of the Ugni Blanc grape, Godet takes a different approach: they focus on rare grape varieties such as Folle Blanche, Montils, and Colombard to create unique expressions.
Tasting Notes, Color: Dark amber Aroma: Well-integrated tannins with summery floral notes, Palate: Subtle hints of hazelnut and peach jam create a soft and gentle impression. A pronounced yet velvety finish.
