Château La Faurie Maison Neuve 2020, Lalande de Pomerol
(€28.80 L)
Elegant, red and black berries, caramel; with entrecôte.
Winemaker and vineyard: The vineyard west of Pomerol grows on a pebble soil. The pressing takes one month, after which the wines are first aged in oak barrels, then bottled and rest in the cellar until they are sold. The wines of the estate are characterised by their spicy and vanilla-like perfume and a finish marked by wood. They have achieved numerous recognitions in various competitions: Paris - Bordeaux - Blayais - Bourgeais - Revue des vins de France, Hachette Wine Guide, etc. Michel Coudroy, a paradise winemaker in the area, is passionate about vineyards and wine and would love you to share in this passion.
Tasting: Beautiful garnet colour, structured coloured tear, varied and aromatic on the nose (ripe red fruits). The Merlot is intense and soothed by the Cabernet Sauvignon. In the mouth spicy and well built, good finish.
Service: Serve chambré and decanted with dark meat, game and roasts, also with fine cheeses.
