Domaine de Chevalier 2017

Origin and background

The 2017 vintage was marked by tricky weather conditions, with a cool, wet spring followed by a drier, hot summer. Despite these challenges, Domaine de Chevalier was able to express its exceptional terroir thanks to rigorous viticulture and particular care in the cellar. The wine reflects a classic elegance, combining finesse and structure, characteristic of this Grand Cru Classé renowned for its balance between power and finesse.

Tasting

Colour: Deep ruby red.

Nose: Complex and refined, dominated by notes of fresh red fruit (raspberry, cherry), accompanied by hints of undergrowth, tobacco, cedar and delicate spices.

Palate: Velvety attack. The tannic structure is present but well integrated, offering fine tension and a remarkable balance between freshness and density. Red and black fruit flavours intertwine with woody and slightly spicy notes. The finish is long, elegant and persistent.

Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot
