Produced from a great Bordeaux vintage, Château Carbonnieux 2010 is a red wine of character, combining the finesse typical of Graves with remarkable structure. This historic Classified Growth will win you over with its precision, aromatic complexity and ageing potential.

Tasting notes:

Colour: Deep and dark, with garnet highlights.

Nose: Expressive and racy, revealing aromas of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry) and black cherry, accompanied by notes of light tobacco, cedar, sweet pepper and the elegant smokiness typical of the Graves region.

Palate: The attack is supple but assertive. The wine is full-bodied, structured by ripe, silky tannins. The wood ageing is perfectly integrated, adding subtle toasty and spicy notes. The finish is persistent, fresh and marked by a fine minerality.

Food and wine pairings:

An elegant accompaniment to grilled or roasted red meats, rack of lamb with herbs, game birds, or mature hard cheeses such as Comté or Cantal.

Cellaring potential:

Already very pleasant after aeration, this wine can be laid down for several more years. It should reach its peak between 2020 and 2030, or even longer, depending on how it is kept.
