Domaine de Saint-Pierre, Sancerre white 2021
(€30.00 L)
Aromas of white fruits, citrus fruits, freshness on the finish.
Winemaker and vineyard: This Sancerre vineyard is owned by the Prieur family. Pierre Prieur grows Sauvignon Blanc as well as Pinot Noir on 17 ha. The wines are typical of Sancerre: diverse and with a high terroir expression, as the vineyards are situated on all three different typical subsoils, on "Terres Blanches" (clay-limestone mixture), "Caillottes" (limestone) and "Silex" (flint).
Tasting notes: Bright white-golden colour, a very fruity nose, with aromas of apricot, fine and elegant in the mouth, sparkling clean, long. The wine combines the three characteristics of the different soils, the strength of Terres Blanches, the delicacy of Caillotes and the fragrance and longevity of the tartar.
Service: Sancerre is the traditional accompaniment to fish and seafood, sheep and goat cheeses, traditional fish dishes such as "quenelles" or "tourte aux poissons".
