Château Latour-Martillac 2017
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France
Grape varieties : Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
Vintage : 2017
Origin and background
Situated in the heart of Pessac-Léognan on deep gravel soils, Château Latour-Martillac is renowned for its elegant, racy style. The 2017 vintage was marked by frost, but the estate was able to preserve a high-quality harvest thanks to its advantageous topography. Selective harvesting and careful vinification produced a well-balanced wine that reveals the terroir.
Tasting
Colour: Deep garnet red with purple highlights.
Nose: Fine and precise, dominated by aromas of black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry), with hints of cedar, sweet spices and light tobacco.
Palate: Supple, silky attack. Elegant structure with fine, ripe tannins. The fruit expresses itself with freshness and purity, accompanied by subtle, well-integrated woody and spicy notes. Straightforward, persistent and harmonious finish.
