Château Beauregard 2018, Pomerol - Parker 92
(€127.33 L)
Deep garnet-purple colored, it springs from the glass with lively notes of raspberry pie, ripe blackberries and plum preserves, plus suggestions of pencil shavings, dusty soil and crushed rocks. The palate is medium-bodied, softly textured and delivers open-knit black and red fruit flavors with just enough lift on the mid-palate and finish to give it compelling vivacity.
Vineyard and Winemaker: Château Beauregard, one of the first estates in the region to expand its vineyard in the 18th century, enjoys an exceptional terroir. Its location on the southeast edge of the famous Pomerol plateau allows the property to exploit fascinating and precious land for viticulture. This soil dominated by gravel, where clay and sand complete its structure, shapes the Merlot and Cabernet Franc in an elegant, gourmand, fresh, and racy manner. The vineyard spans 17.5 hectares, where more than 35 parcels are cultivated according to their specificities.
Tasting: The 2018 Beauregard is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it leaps from the glass with lively notes of raspberry pie, ripe blackberries, and plum preserves, plus hints of pencil shavings, dusty soil, and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is softly textured and delivers open-knit black and red fruit flavors with just enough lift on the mid-palate and finish to give it compelling vivacity. robertparker.com (31.03.2021)
