Le Guérandais
The sea salt production in the Guérandais has a very long tradition that thanks to the initiative of some salt workers lasts until today. When salt producers in Guérandais have been thrown into a crisis due to overwhelming international competition, in 1988 approximately 200 salt workers joined forces in a cooperation - Le Guérandais was born.
Certified with a series of quality labels ("Nature & Progrès", "Label Rouge", etc) and since 2012 with an own IGP for "Sel de Guérande" and "Fleur de sel de Guérande", the cooperation produces salts and fleur de sels of very high quality, especially because they can refer to a century-long tradition and thus the relevant savoir-faire.
The salt of Le Guérandais can be found in the kitchen of 5-star-hotels, but is also the favored salt in many private kitchens.
