Very black coffee on the nose. The wine is dense and quite tannic, with an unusual roundness from Merlot. A chameleon-like wine.
A superb nose of ripe black fruit. Pretty and juicy on the palate, with a wave of velvety tannins towards the finish.
Superb nose of stewed red fruit. Full-bodied on the palate with smooth tannins. Fruity and elegant, with good length.
This cuvée comes from a selection of two plots planted with Grenache, one in 1900 "Charbonnières", the other in 1949 "Esqueirons".
Remarkably well-structured, always elegant, with a very long finish, Château Canon La Gaffelière is a wine of remarkable nobility.
