Who doesn't know cider from France? But nothing beats a Cidre de Normandie! Jules Père uses no less than 20 different apple varieties for his cider; a wonderful balance between sweetness and freshness. Its sublime colour is accentuated by a fine perlage. Delicious!
Producer: Le Père Jules was the father of Léon Defrièches, the owner of this traditional company, who is now over 70 years old. It was founded in 1919. The distillery is located in St-Désir-de-Lisieux, on the Normandy coast. Here, over 42 varieties of apples, grown on very old trees, are processed organically.
Tasting: The nose is characterised by ripe apple aromas, full of flavour in the mouth.
To drink: Room temperature, as a digestive, with an apple pie, to flambé apple pie, in sauces, etc.
All products of Le Père Jules are made from apple and pear varieties that are carefully selected from traditional orchards of tall trees in a protected area of controlled production (AOC).
