Vinery and vineyard: The Meynards bought these vineyards in 1916. 15 km away from Bordeaux, the property consists of 30 ha of vineyards and pear trees, planted after the great freeze of 1956. The terroir is exposed to the influence of the Garonne and the Dordogne and has a silty-clay soil. The vineyards are cultivated according to reasoned culture principles, which limit the use of chemical treatment.

Tasting: The Bordeaux Supérieur Tradition is the perfect wine to keep (10 to 15 years). The grape varieties used are 50% of Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 % of Merlot and 20% of Cabernet Franc, which makes it a Médoc among the Bordeaux Supérieur! The cuvee “Tradition” is aged in vats for 6 months, and then for 12 months in new or one-year-old oak barrels.

Drinking suggestion: Full-bodied and robust, with coffee, cocoa and toasted bread aromas, this wine fits perfectly with game dishes, sauced dishes and, of course, cheese.

Gold medal and Best Of Class at the Los Angeles Wine & Spirit Competition.
