Tasting
Colour : Deep red with intense garnet highlights.
Nose: Complex and refined. Pronounced notes of black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry), sweet spices, graphite, cedar and subtle floral touches (violet). Toasty and slightly smoky aromas complete the ensemble.
Palate: Full, structured attack. Dense, velvety texture with firm but perfectly integrated tannins. Rich, well-balanced mid-palate, where fruit, spices and mineral notes intertwine harmoniously. Long, fresh and persistent finish, with great potential for complexity with age.
Scores :
- Wine Advocate: 96/100
- James Suckling: 97/100
- Vinous: 96/100
Suggested pairings
An excellent accompaniment to grilled prime rib, herb-roasted rack of lamb, venison fillet or sweet-spiced duck. It also goes very well with simmered dishes such as beef bourguignon or navarin lamb, and with ripe hard cheeses (comté, parmesan) or slightly blue-veined cheeses.
