Description

The Corbières Tradition Rouge from Domaine de Fontsainte is the estate’s classic red wine and a true expression of the Corbières appellation. Made from the region’s traditional grape varieties, this cuvée embodies an authentic and characterful Southern French style.

Winery: Domaine de Fontsainte is a historic family-owned estate run by the Laboucarié family in Boutenac, in the Languedoc region of southern France. Founded in 1971, the winery produces distinctive wines under the AOP Corbières and AOP Corbières-Boutenac appellations and is regarded as one of the leading producers of the Corbières region.

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red in color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe black cherries, blackberries, and plums, complemented by notes of Mediterranean herbs, spices, and a hint of licorice. On the palate, the wine is balanced and juicy, with soft tannins, lively freshness, and a harmonious structure. A classic Southern French red with generous fruit, subtle spice, and a pleasantly persistent finish.

Food Pairing: The Corbières Tradition Rouge pairs beautifully with slow-braised lamb seasoned with Provençal herbs, grilled beef, game dishes, and hearty stews. It also complements aged hard cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine featuring olives, rosemary, and thyme. Particularly enjoyable pairings include rack of lamb and a traditional cassoulet from southwestern France.
