- New

(€138.67 L)
Masculine, full of character, well-structured; pairs well with mushroom dishes.
This wine, from the Premier Cru site at the Côte Saint Jacques vineyard, derives its unique character in part from its east-facing orientation, which is ideal for Pinot Noir. "Les Champeaux" is a wine full of class and has aging potential that can rival the Grands Crus.
Producer: The Tortochot estate has been in the hands of the Tortochot family for four generations. It was Paul Tortochot who, in the 19th century, expanded the small estate in Gevrey Chambertin. Today, the estate is still run by the Tortochot family. Chantal now leads it with the passion for wine and nature passed down from her parents and grandparents, along with international experience gained while working at an American oil company.
Terroir: Gevrey-Chambertin has a rare and unique "terroir," thanks to the "alluvial fan" from a valley located just west of Gevrey called "La Combe de Lavaux." This glacier, which melted millions of years ago, spread rich upper and lower soil layers over the area that today forms the village and extends to the plains beyond. It’s no surprise that 9 of the 33 Grand Crus originate from this village, including the famous Chambertin, as well as 26 Premier Crus!
Tasting Notes: A wine with a so-called masculine character, quite structured with firm tannins and a beautiful length.
Aging Potential: 8-10 years.
