Winegrower and vineyard: Château Tour de Calens is a small, single-holding vineyard of 7.10 hectares located to the north of the Graves appellation on the south bank of the Garonne at Beautiran. The vineyard is surrounded by forest and is therefore protected from the rigours of the climate. The dry, healthy atmosphere reduces health risks. The soil is deep gravel. The owner's son, Alexandre Doublet, is in charge of the vineyard. Very rigorous, he practises integrated farming and limits yields (30 hectolitres per hectare). The long vatting period is preceded by total de-stemming and followed by maturing in oak barrels for a year.

Tasting :Attractive ruby colour, good mineral notes on the nose with hints of blackberries and well-ripened grapes. Round and very pleasant structure. An elegant wine typical of the appellation.

To serve: Drink at room temperature (16-18°C); with red meat, meat in sauce, game and cheese.
