General Description

Marc de Bourgogne ‘L'Authentique’ 7 Year Old is a traditional eau-de-vie produced by Maison Jacoulot, founded in 1891. Located in Pommard, Burgundy, the distillery is renowned for its expertise in producing quality marc. This marc is produced by distilling the grape “genne”, i.e. the skins, pips and stems of the bunch, mainly from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Unlike other marcs, the “genne” is destemmed before distillation, giving the product a particular smoothness and finesse.

Aromatic profile

Colour: Golden yellow with coppery highlights.

Nose: Fine and elegant, reminiscent of fresh grapes, with vegetal notes and a hint of sandalwood.

Palate: Full and powerful, revealing woody aromas and a flavour reminiscent of rum-raisin ice cream.

Finish: Enveloped in a lingering freshness.

Food and wine pairings

This Marc de Bourgogne is best enjoyed as an after-dinner drink, served at room temperature or in a still-warm cup after coffee. It can also be used in the Burgundian tradition of the ‘trou bourguignon’, a break between starters and the main course, or as an accompaniment to desserts such as fruit sorbets.
