Origin and background
The 2014 vintage in Pauillac had contrasting weather conditions, with a wet spring followed by a drier summer and a cool autumn. This complex year produced well-balanced, fresh wines that are accessible relatively early, with good expression of the terroir and controlled structure. Château Croizet-Bages has produced a wine that is lighter than the sunnier vintages, but well structured and enjoyable.
Tasting
Colour: Medium ruby red with purple highlights.
Nose: Fresh and clean. Aromas of red fruit (raspberry, cherry), discreet floral touches, light spicy nuances and delicate woody notes.
Palate: Supple, fresh attack. Fine, elegant tannins, balanced structure with lively acidity adding tension. Light, fruity mid-palate, with a clean, lingering finish of red fruit and sweet spices.
